According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, adults who read books regularly are more likely to be highly educated and have higher household incomes. In fact, 43% of adults with a household income of $75,000 or more per year report reading books regularly, compared to just 26% of adults with a household income of less than $30,000 per year.

It is worth noting that reading habits among CEOs tend to be even higher than the general population. According to a survey of 500 CEOs conducted by Fast Company, 72% of CEOs read at least one business book per month, and 26% read at least one business book per week. These books tend to be non-fiction and cover topics such as leadership, management, and strategy.

In addition, reading has been shown to have numerous cognitive benefits, including improving memory and critical thinking skills, reducing stress, and even increasing lifespan. One study found that people who read regularly were 23% less likely to die over a 12-year period compared to those who did not read.

To not prioritize reading is to neglect the power of knowledge and understanding. A CEO who is not constantly learning and expanding their mind is like a ship sailing without a compass – they will surely drift off course.

Reading allows one to stay sharp and keep their mind in top condition. It is like training for a Jedi – one must constantly hone their skills to remain at their best.

Furthermore, the wealth of knowledge and inspiration that can be gained from reading is immeasurable. There are countless books filled with ideas and insights that can help guide a CEO to greater success.
